Our Leaders

Julius Kenneth Washington was born 10/05/1957 in Little Rock, Arkansas, but moved to Chicago when he reached school age. At the age of 9, his aunt started taking him and his brother Steve Robinson to Greater Mt. Tabor M.B. Church (now Living Hope Kingdom Ministries). This is where Julius began his spiritual journey and was baptized after confessing Jesus as his Savior at the age of 13. He was very active in church with the Youth Ministry and as a young adult was ordained as a Deacon. Shortly thereafter in 1983, Julius accepted God’s call to be a minister of the Gospel. At the leading of the Holy Spirit, he and his family left Greater Mount Tabor and joined Apostolic Faith Church under Bishop Horace Smith, M.D. where he served for 10 years and had leadership roles in Prison, Christian Education, and Men’s Ministries while also being a member of the Ministerial Alliance. In 1998, Julius was elected Senior Pastor of Living Hope Kingdom Ministries where he has served to this day. Pastor Julius’ spiritual gifts are Apostleship, Knowledge, and Giving. He is passionate about advancing the Kingdom of God. Pastor Julius has a Bachelors’ Degree in Economics and MBA in Finance & Marketing from Northwestern University, and a Master of Theological Studies from McCormick Theological Seminary. Pastor Julius has been married to Mary A. Washington for 41 years and has 2 children, Tamika D. Bledsoe-Madden (Tyrone) and Jared K. Washington (Dominique) and 3 grandchildren: Jasmyne, Jaden, and Jaxen. 

Mary Alice Washington was born December 26,1959 in Little Rock, Arkansas. She moved to Chicago with her mother and other siblings at the age of 10. Lady Mary and her future husband have similar beginnings, but did not meet each other until they were adults in 1982. In fact, they met at Greater Mount Tabor Church where both their respective families attended. Upon meeting, Julius and Mary began dating and were married less than a year. Lady Mary operated her own in-home daycare business for 10 years and then utilized her gift of helps to seniors and those with physical challenges. She is a gifted caregiver and currently assists the elderly through a home care agency. Lady Mary has a deep love for family and is a nurturer. Her caring and sensitive spirit allows her to thrive as leader of the Women’s Ministry, member of Praise and Worship Team, co-lead of Deliverance Ministry, and member of Prayer Team and Altar Worker Ministry. Lady Mary loves the Lord and is passionate about worship. She partners with and greatly assists Pastor Julius in advancing the Kingdom of God at Living Hope Kingdom Ministries.
